Troop 73 managed to have a fulfilling and busy year even amid Covid precautions. Several in-person activities and trips took place during the year. However all meetings during the 2020-21 Scouting year took place remotely.
Troop 73 Scouts also continued to show their dedication to the community this year, achieving the Community Service Recognition for 2,954 hours of volunteer service, the highest number of hours in the District. This equates to more than 59 hours per Scout.
Troop 73 also received the Journey to Excellence Gold Award, awarded by Council for exceeding 1,000 points across 8 of the 11 objectives and earning at least Bronze level on camping objective.
Troop 73 scouts were six of the 19 scouts from the Archdiocese of Newark who earned Catholic Service awards on June 6, 2021. Three younger scouts achieved the Ad Altare Dei award and three older scouts achieved the Pope Pius XII award .
